The Joy of Giving – A Simple Way of DIY Gift Wrapping

Who doesn’t love to receive gifts! I (we) love receiving gifts especially those that wrapped nicely. Those beautiful packaging just so lovely what more I enjoying spending time thinking how to package and design the gift before giving to the recipient.

A simple touch of the package could make the gift look like a magic! It makes you would want to patiently unwrap it and looks forward to seeing what is in there. The joy of giving it works well on these food treats as well!

Have you tried one of our favorite festive baking – Hazelnut Madeleines that we shared last week? If you plan to bake some cookie or Madeleines as a gift for friends, you wonder have to pack them nicely. Here is one of our suggestion that you would like to go with!

When gift-wrap your food is always good to have a layer of plastic sheet / baking paper allowing it to help absorbing excess oil from the food. Preventing it from staining the brown paper.

Both of us love to collect washi tapes, especially those from MT Washi Tapes – however, we do not have a main store in Singapore, therefore, we would search around for special design. The ones we using above was found at Crate and Barre their Christmas’s baskets. Many different stationary or home stores carries MT Washi Tapes but it requires you to spend the time to search for these little helpers.

Supplies |

  • Wax papers / Baking papers
  • Brown Papers /
  • MT Washi Tapes
  • Pen Knife
  • Scissor
  • Strings

Method |

Start by cutting the wax and brown paper into a long rectangular shape, with 3 equal ratios of square.

With the brown paper as the outer layer and the wax paper as the inner. Fold 2 of the square, tape the side of it using clear tape to secure it. Now cut the 3rd square into half to create a lid.

You now can fill the “goodies bag” with all your snacks and gift. After you are done, close the lid and secure it with some cute strings. Seal it up with the washi tape at the intersection point. And you are all done.

Share with us your making! Take a photo of yours, send us an email, tag us on Instagram, tweet us, anything. We love to see yours!

xoxo, Angela.
