We’re generally quite satisfied with the way we designed our kitchen, but seeing this gorgeous design by Nordiska Kök makes me want to change to a warmer color palette. The oak wood combined with the terrazzo countertops against the beige wall works really well and creates a warm and inviting feeling.
While many likes to paint over their oak we prefer them in raw, just a little staining and you are good to go. Here’s an interesting thing about oak – for some reason, it was almost always treated with clear, neutral finishes, so all oak cabinets wound up looking alike. However, wood stain can do all kinds of things to enhance the look of oak cabinetry.
